Last week the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, visited the village of Willingdon in East Sussex to campaign with Lewes MP Maria Caulfield.
The Prime Minister met with Maria Caulfield and local Conservative activists during a campaign session for the incumbent Lewes MP.
The village of Willingdon currently sits within the boundary of the Eastbourne Constituency but due to parliamentary boundaries changes will be part of the Lewes Constituency at the next General Election.
During the visit the Prime Minister spoke with a number of local residents on their doorsteps who were surprised and pleased to see the PM in their village.
Residents informed the Prime Minister of their desire to see the small boats stopped, better access to local GP’s and Dentists and to stop the Labour leader Keir Starmer becoming the next Prime Minister.
Maria Caulfield MP said:
“I am very pleased that the Prime Minister joined me on the doorsteps, it is so important to hear the views of local people directly. The message was clear that residents want to see the Prime Ministers long-term plan delivered and do not want to go back to square one with Keir Starmer”
