After years of broken promises, I have worked hard alongside other Conservative colleagues to secure £75 million for the A27. This is just the start and with the consultation with local residents starting we can secure future funding, if needed, to deliver a safer and less congested route.
The constituency of Lewes has a unique character, from the historic town of Lewes, through to the coastal towns of Newhaven and Seaford and including the rural villages such as Ditchling, Wivelsfield, Chailey and Alfriston. Each and every part of the constituency is different and unique.
The number one issue on the door step is the economy, and while the Conservatives nationally have turned the economy around I am keen to replicate the national trend locally and I will support local businesses, protect local jobs and bring more investment in to the local economy.
The road and rail infrastructure in the constituency is sadly lacking, and this is not only making life difficult for ordinary residents but it is estimated that it adversely affects local businesses - costing the Sussex economy around £2 billion a year.
