Maria Caulfield, Member of Parliament for Lewes, last week visited the Sycamore Grove Care Home in Stone Cross to meet staff and tour the facilities.
The Lewes MP was invited to visit the care home due to Stone Cross becoming part of the new Lewes Constituency at the next general election.
Maria met with the Manager and Deputy Manager who gave the MP a tour of the home, which opened last year.
The home is part of the Barchester Healthcare group and offers a range of accommodation and services for older people in need of support, including high quality residential care, respite care and dementia care.
Maria was shown an area of the home called Memory Lane, which is dedicated to residents with dementia which includes a number of features designed to support people living with dementia and helping them to orientate themselves within the home.
Commenting on the visit, Maria Caulfield MP said:
“I would like to thank all the team at the Sycamore Grove Care Home for their hospitality during my visit, they have world-class facilities and I spoke to some residents who told me that they really enjoy being there and I believe this is a real asset to the community”
