Lewes MP Maria Caulfield has officially opened a new bridge over the River Cuckmere and the new shared path along the A27, of which the bridge is a part.
The new bridge over the River Cuckmere along the A27, was named the Rampion Bridge by local resident Tracy who won a competition run by National Highways to choose the new name. The new stretch also includes a new road crossing between Firle and Glynde and new improved junctions for Stud Farm residents at the Polegate end of the A27.
Maria Caulfield was joined by the Deputy Mayor of Polegate, Cllr James Heward, as residents in Polegate are benefiting from the new left filter lane coming on to the A27 as well as cycle and walking access now to nearby villages.
Maria Caulfield MP said “While many people have already been enjoying the new shared path along the A27, I was delighted to officially open it recently along with the Deputy Mayor of Polegate Cllr James Heward and Highways England.
“Residents are still keen on further improvements to the A27 and there are plans to consult further as to whether to dual the road at certain points so do look out for the survey to submit your thoughts and ideas.”
