Maria Caulfield, Member of Parliament for Lewes, was pleased to meet with the Kinship Charity to discuss their campaign #ValueOurLove as well as the challenges they face on a daily basis.
‘Kinship’ is the leading kinship care charity in England and Wales. They’re available for all kinship carers – grandparents and siblings, the aunts, uncles, and family friends who step up to raise children when their parents are unable to do so.
With partners such as; DCMS/NESTA Connected Communities Innovation Fund, BBC Children In Need, Comic Relief Change Makers Initiative, and The National Lottery Community Fund, Kinship is working hard to support, connect and campaign, to keep kinship families stronger by keeping them together.

“I was really pleased to meet with the Kinship Charity.
They work so hard as a charity to help those such as grandparents, siblings and family friends who have in cases had to put their plans aside and raise the children they love, mostly with no notice.
This is a life changing and emotional situation and one that is challenging raising children who could’ve been hurt or neglected, but #KinshipCarers do it anyway because they put the children first.
Thank you very much for the Kinship Charity for their tireless work and brilliant campaign.
#ValueOurLove.”
Wendy, grandmother #KinshipCarer said:
"As Minister for Women's Health, Maria listened intently to the impact on kinship families due to a lack of financial and other practical support.
Maria took on board that we are the forgotten army, the #KinshipCarers who battle every day to be heard and recognised.
It's great that she is backing Kinship's #ValueOurLove campaign after meeting with us and hearing our stories,"
