The Government is pleased to announce a new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Alternative Provision (AP) Improvement Plan for England. The Improvement Plan is aimed at improving the speed of autism assessments for local families.
Autism assessments can be a stressful and time-consuming process for families with children who may require additional support. The new plan will streamline the assessment process, reducing waiting times and ensuring families receive the support they need as quickly as possible.
The Government’s utmost priority is to ensure that no matter where you are from or what stage of life you are at, every child and young person should always be able to get a high-quality education and receive the right support in the right place at the right time – and this is particularly pertinent for children and young people with SEND or those in alternative provision.
