Maria Caulfield, Member of Parliament for Lewes, is encouraging residents in Ditchling to take part in the consultation on a traffic management plan for Ditchling being undertaken by Ditchling Parish Council.
On Saturday 3rd February, Maria attended a meeting held by the parish council where an exhibition was held to show residents a range of options for improving road safety as issues with pedestrian safety, HGV’s through the village and speeding vehicles have been a problem for a long time.
Proposals for consultation being put forward by the parish council include; the introduction of gateway features at the entrances of the village, traffic calming measures, safer crossings for pedestrians, moveable speed indicator devices and extension to the 20mph zone.
Commenting on the proposals, Maria Caulfield MP said:
“I would like to congratulate Ditchling Parish Council for taking an active role in persuing road safety initiatives for the parish, I would encourage any residents of Ditchling to take part in their consultation so that your views are heard”
The consultation is open until the 19th February and can be viewed here: https://www.surveyhero.com/c/3g7ewfuy
