Maria Caulfield MP has welcomed a 4.8% increase in school funding across the Lewes constituency for the 2024/25 school year.
This increase will bring the total funding for all schools in the Lewes constituency in 2024/25 to £60,117,306.
The average increase in National Funding Formula pupil-led per pupil funding in the Lewes constituency compared to 2023-24 for all schools is 2.9%. The school with the largest percentage increase in pupil-led funding is Chailey St Peter’s Church of England Primary School, who are set to receive an increase of 8.7%.
Maria Caulfield MP said “Once again the Government is increasing per-pupil funding in every school across the Lewes constituency. With total funding in the constituency increasing by 4.8% and an average increase in NFF per pupil funding of 2.9% in each school.
“This funding will go a long way to ensuring that our teachers and schools are able to provide a first class education to children and young people across the Lewes constituency.”
In a letter to MPs the Schools Minister, Nick Gibb MP, wrote “This Government is committed to delivering a world class education system, which supports all children to achieve to their full potential. Our investment in education is key to this, and in 2024-25 the total core schools budget will be at its highest ever level, in both real terms and in real terms per pupil. This budget will total over £59.6 billion in 2024-25, an over £1.8 billion increase from this year – on top of the more than £3.9 billion rise in 2023-24.”
