Maria Caulfield, the Member of Parliament for Lewes, has welcomed the intervention of the Rail Minister, Claire Perry, in trying to resolve this issue on behalf of residents.
Maria, who met with the Rail Minister to draw this case to her attention and to push for a swift resolution, said: "I was very pleased that following my meeting, the Minister has gone away and taken this matter to the very top of Network Rail, demanding action.
Villagers are continuing to be inconvenienced because of the actions of Network Rail and it is important this situation is resolved as soon as possible."
The Minister has called for the Chief Executive to intervene personally to ensure all mitigating steps possible are being taken to minimise the disruption for residents and businesses whilst a long term solution is found.
Maria added: "I look forward to hearing back from Network Rail shortly as residents are naturally concerned whilst this matter drags on. I will continue to do all I can to support them going forward."
