Maria Caulfield, the Member of Parliament for Lewes, is standing side by side with residents in Alfriston against County Council plans for new traffic lights and one ways systems through the village.
The SAVE Alfriston group held an exhibition in the village to set out their views of the scheme and alternative plans that are more sensitive to the village.
Maria Caulfield MP has always stood with residents when developers or councils have tried to impose unwanted measures on to them, and having heard Alfriston’s call, Maria is standing with them against the proposals of East Sussex County Council.
Maria Caulfield MP said “SAVE Alfriston presented a thorough argument against ESCC’s plans and have put forward a sensible alternative proposal. Local people know what is best for their area and these views should not be ignored.”
“I have always stood with local residents on their issues of concerns and will continue to do so. I would urge anyone who wasn’t able to attend the event to visit conservealfriston.com for more information.”
