Polegate MP Maria Caulfield has planted a Platinum Jubilee cherry tree at Brightling Road Recreation Ground.
The tree planting event was organised by Polegate Town Council as part of the celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Maria Caulfield MP was given a cherry tree as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative to plant trees across the UK in memory of the occasion. Polegate’s MP decided to donate the tree to the town.
Maria Caulfield MP said “I want to thank Polegate Town Council and everyone involved in the wonderful event to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen.
“I was given a tree as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative and decided to donate it to Polegate as a lasting legacy of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Hopefully 70 years from now the cherry tree will still be in place for future residents of Polegate to enjoy.”
