Maria Caulfield, MP for Lewes, was happy to welcome the Chailey Tractor Club to Parliament for a tour.
This group was instigated by a few friends who have traditionally organised an annual tractor run in aid of charity, they have now formed the Chailey Classic & Vintage Tractor Club and membership is open to all interested parties irrespective of location and it is not a requirement to own a machine.
Vice Chairman and Parish Councillor Peter Olbrich said “A few of us over the years have grouped together to organise an annual tractor run in support of charity. Chailey Classic & Vintage Tractor Club has aligned itself to St Peter & St James Hospice which is our chosen and designated charity”.
The group has a committee of local enthusiasts and has ambitious plans to extend its initiative in an attempt to raise funds for the Hospice in a manner of ways, including branded products made from fresh produce donated to the Club from local farms which might otherwise be wasted and a community cinema club showing vintage and agriculturally related films.

Maria Caulfield MP said:
“It was great to meet the Chailey Tractor Club in Parliament and show them Westminster Hall with the fabulous addition of the Christmas tree. The Club is a brilliant community addition to Chailey and encourages those with an interest in classic tractors to come together with their neighbours to discuss their shared interest.
The club also conducts brilliant charity work supporting St James and St Peter Hospice.
Thank you for joining me in Westminster and for all you do for the community and their residents!”
