Maria Caulfield MP has praised Lewes Old Grammar School for installing two publically accessible defibrillators following a recent tour of the school.
Lewes Old Grammar School, or LOGS for short, is a co-ed independent school in the heart of Lewes that can trace its origins back to the educational foundation started by Agnes Morley during the reign of Henry VIII.
After answering questions from students on a wide variety of local, national and international issues, Maria Caulfield spoke passionately about her Defibrillator Bill and campaign for funding for more defibrillators across the country. Maria praised Headteacher Mr Blewitt and his staff for installing these lifesaving devices.
Maria Caulfield MP said “I am so pleased that Lewes Old Grammar School have not only installed two defibrillators but also made them accessible to the public. During the work on my Defibrillator Bill, I have come across some heart breaking stories of situations where defibrillators where not available. The decision to install these defibrillators has real lifesaving potential”
“LOGS provides an excellent educational facility for young people aged 3 to 18 in my constituency. It was a privilege to meet with so many well engaged and knowledgeable students and hardworking staff.”
