No to Eton College New Town

As a passionate campaigner for the protection of green spaces, Maria has been vocal in her opposition for the proposals to build 3000 homes in East Chiltington.

The proposals would see up to 3,250 houses built on a site called North Barnes Farm in the parish of East Chiltington and would create a 'new town' between the settlements of Plumpton and South Chailey.

Maria Caulfield is supporting residents in opposing the site, and the first step in the campaign is to ensure that Lewes District Council, as the local planning authority, rule the site out in the process of developing their new local plan, which is due to be completed by December 2025.

Ruling the site out in the Local Plan will give much greater strength to any planning applications made for the site.
