Maria Caulfield MP has thanked Councillors on Polegate Town Council for their efforts to improve road safety and tackle speeding in the town.
The problem of speeding in Polegate has increased in recent months with drivers trying to avoid the roadworks on the A27 bypass and speeding through the town to make up lost time. This has led to many residents to complain to their local MP. Polegate Town Councillors have also been working on the issue and have recently been out in the town reminding drivers to slow down by standing on the side of roads in high vis jackets holding signs with road safety slogans such as ‘speed kills’ or slow down’.
Maria Caulfield MP said “A huge thank you to councillors on Polegate Town Council for all their work in trying to tackle speeding in Polegate. I have had lots of complaints from residents about how busy roads in Polegate have become with cars cutting through the town to try and avoid roadworks on the A27. Recently Polegate Town Councillors Dan Dunbar and David Watts were out reminding drivers to take care and slow down.”
