Maria Caulfield MP has welcomed the announcement by Rampion of a £4 million community fund.
The Rampion Community fund will be comprised of £3.1 million for local community groups and charities, £800,000 for a visitor centre in Brighton, and £100,000 to be donated to local RNLI stations.
The Rampion Fund at Sussex Community Foundation has been made available to support the local community, from Littlehampton Harbour in the west, to Beachy Head in the east and up to the A272 near Twineham in the north close to the wind farm’s onshore substation. It is designed to help fund local projects particularly those with links to the environment and ecology, climate change and energy, as well as those that work to improve community facilities.
Maria Caulfield MP, whose constituency includes the Rampion Windfarm’s Newhaven base, said “Rampion are seeking to play an active role in the Sussex Community which is greatly welcomed.”
“I will be encouraging local charities in my constituency to apply for funding and will also be contacting Rampion to ensure that the excellent Newhaven RNLI benefit.”
