
Maria Caulfield MP has welcomed the 2.5% increase in school funding for the Lewes constituency, taking the total funding for all schools in 2023-24 to £55,482,782.
National Funding Formula (NFF) per pupil funding in 2023-24 is set to increase on average by 2%, with the average increase for primary schools at 1.8% and secondary schools at 2.3%.
The schools within the Lewes constituency that are set to see the largest increase in NFF per pupil funding are Hamsey Community Primary School (5.4%), Firle Church of England Primary School (5%), and Alfriston School (4.8%).
Maria Caulfield MP said “I am delighted that our local schools across the Lewes constituency are seeing increases in funding of up to 5.4% in National Funding Formula per pupil funding and that the total funding for schools in my constituency is going up by 2.5% to nearly £55.5 million.
“This additional funding will help ensure that our fantastic local schools are able to provide the best education possible. I will continue to campaign to ensure that local schools are given the funding that they need.”
