Maria Caulfield MP visited Bursa Kebabs in Newhaven at the weekend ahead of the British Kebab Awards semi-finals. Bursa Kebabs have been nominated in the customer satisfaction category for this year’s awards.
Joining Maria was the Mayor of Newhaven Lesley Boniface, County Councillor James MacCleary and other local councillors, tasting the fantastic food on offer and wishing the team good luck.
Maria said “I am a keen supporter of the British Kebab Awards, which is an excellent award celebrating the contribution of the industry in the UK over the past 60 years. It is excellent to see the recognition for some of the top chefs, takeaways, and restaurants around the country, who work incredibly hard to showcase their products.
“As an industry contributing more than £2 billion each year to the UK economy, and with the public perception of kebabs having changed, there is an awful lot of competition for the various categories, which I believe shows just how much culinary talent there is.
“I would like to encourage everyone to vote for Bursa Kebabs, who are an excellent local business. I wish them all the best in the semi-finals”.
