Maria Caulfield MP visits Bedlam Brewery

Maria Caulfield MP has visited Bedlam Brewery near Plumpton Green to discuss the impact of Covid19 on operations and plans for the future.

Bedlam Brewery was founded in 2011 and moved to its current solar powered facility near Plumpton Green in 2016. Although Covid19 caused problems, as it has done with many other industries, Bedlam have focused on the take home market to make the most of people staying home.

The craft beer producer is now looking to expand operations and diversify back into agriculture with a planning application recently submitted for a new beef unit at Park Farm, creating space for expanded facilities at the neighbouring Helena Farm which houses the brewery.

Maria Caulfield MP said “It has been a fantastic opportunity to visit Bedlam Brewery, one of several amazing breweries in the Lewes constituency. I was interested to learn about how they took on the many challenges they faced during the height of restrictions imposed due to Covid19, as well as their interesting plans to diversify into agriculture and expand the growing business. All of this is great news for local jobs and the economy at such an uncertain time.”
