Maria Caulfield MP is supporting the 11th National Apprenticeship Week which is running from 5th to 9th March.
During the week employers and apprentices from across England will come together to celebrate the success of apprenticeships whilst encouraging even more people to choose apprenticeships as a pathway to a great career.
The theme for the #NAW2018 is ‘Apprenticeships Work’. Showcasing how apprenticeships work:
- for individuals
- for employers
- for the community
- for the wider economy
Maria Caulfield has learnt that 520 new apprenticeships were started in the Lewes constituency in 2016. The Government is aiming to create an additional 3 million high quality apprenticeships by 2020.
Maria Caulfield MP said “I am supporting National Apprenticeships Week to raise awareness that apprenticeships are an excellent opportunity for those looking for their first career after school or for those looking for a change of career.”
“Apprenticeships are available in a wide range of fields and not just the traditional trades that people may think like plumbing or building. Apprenticeships are available in business, electronics, hospitality, journalism and many more fields.”
