Maria Caulfield MP presents climate change petition to House of Commons

Maria Caulfield MP has presented a petition to the House of Commons calling on the UK to show global leadership in the fight against climate change by hosting the COP26 climate change conference in 2020.

The petition was signed by almost 750 constituents including hundreds from Lewes Priory School, Western Road Primary School and Seaford Head School.

The Lewes MP was joined in presenting the petition from her constituency by other Conservative MPs presenting similar petitions on the same issue, showing that across the UK people want the UK to lead on the issue of climate change.

Maria Caulfield MP said “I would like to thank those constituents who have signed this important petition highlighting the support for the UK hosting the COP26 climate change conference in 2020. I would particularly like to thank the staff and students at Lewes Priory School, Seaford Head School, and Western Road Primary School for their participation. Climate change is the most important issue facing the world today and I along with many of my constituents want to see the UK take the lead by hosting this important conference.”
