Maria Caulfield MP is starting a series of supermarket surgeries so residents can have their say on issues ranging from Brexit to potholes. The first of the series was in Newhaven’s Sainsbury’s giving residents a chance to raise any issues with her.
The drop in surgery allowed shoppers to stop and chat with their MP on local and national issues as well as any personal problems that they may have . Dozens of people were able to raise concerns or talk with Maria. The Lewes MP is planning on hold further supermarket surgeries in other supermarket across the constituency.
Maria Caulfield MP said “It was great to be able to speak to so many people from the local area in Sainsbury’s in Newhaven. Many issues were raised but Seaford’s new medical hub, the Bishopstone/A259 Junction and Brexit were most frequently raised. I’d like to thank Sainsbury’s for allowing me to set up in the store. I am looking forward to holding other supermarket surgeries across the constituency to meet even more local people.”
