Maria Caulfield MP has joined the Mayor of Newhaven and staff to celebrate 30 years of Paradise Park in Newhaven.
Paradise Park Garden Centre is the first of Tates of Sussex’s garden centres, first opening its doors to the public in 1989. Alongside the large garden centre, there are some of the finest gardens in Sussex, with several small lakes, waterfalls, fountains and plant houses.
During the event the entire restaurant sang ‘Happy Birthday’ before the candles were blown out on the cake, made to order especially for the occasion by Seaford based Burt’s Bakery. Customers were then treated to a slice and were invited to share their stories and memories of Paradise Park. Paradise Park may have reached it’s 30th birthday this year, but the family are also celebrating 100 years in business this year, from their humble beginnings running a laundry on Old Shoreham Road in Portslade, now the site of one of their successful car showrooms.
Maria Caulfield MP said “It was a pleasure to be able to join everyone at Paradise Park in Newhaven to celebrate its 30th Birthday. Paradise Park is one of the top attractions in Sussex bringing visitors from near and far. Here’s to another 30 years of Paradise Park in Newhaven!”
