Cancer nurse and Lewes MP Maria Caulfield has joined Macmillan to show her support at their World’s Biggest Coffee morning in Parliament.
Macmillan is a charity working to achieve the best care for people living with cancer. They are currently campaigning for action to reduce the backlog of cancer treatment and diagnosis caused by the pandemic and will be launching a new call for more specialist cancer nurses at the event. Maria Caulfield MP has spent over 20 years working as a cancer nurse in the NHS.
At the coffee morning Maria Caulfield was able to meet Macmillan frontline workers who did so much to support people living with cancer during the pandemic.
Maria Caulfield MP said “As a cancer nurse who took up the NHS’s call for help during the pandemic I was able to see first hand how much work Macmillan staff put in during the height of the pandemic to continue to support those living with cancer. I wanted to make sure that I was able to join them at their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in Parliament to thank them for everything that they have done and continue to do.
“Anyone who is living with cancer and is in need of support can get in touch with Macmillan on www.macmillan.org.uk or call 0808 808 00 00.”
