MPs from across East Sussex have taken their case to the Prime Minister for hospitals in Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill to be upgraded and modernised.
Since the turn of the year, the group of MPs, Caroline Ansell, Maria Caulfield, Nusrat Ghani, Sally-Ann Hart and Huw Merriman, have been working with the Department for Health and the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust in order for a bid to be included in the next phase of hospital rebuilding across England.
The County MPs took their pitch directly to Boris Johnson earlier this month.
In a joint statement, the MPs said “Our local NHS workforce have given their all to our community. We are committed to working with them to improve the hospitals which residents rely upon. We hope this local effort will be recognised and that our hospital buildings will receive further investment from our Government.”
