Improvements have taken place on the A27 from the new shared path, making it safer for cyclists and pedestrians to a new crossing between Firle and Glynde and junction improvements at Polegate.
There is still more to do and given the A27 between Lewes and Polegate is still in the Governments RIS 3 ( road infrastructure scheme) programme there is still the option to dual the road.
This is controversial and I would only support dualling the existing road to minimise the impact on villages along the stretch. It is important to share your views ahead of the public consultation so please use the survey to feed in your thoughts.
